Because of His fame and notoriety, there were many people around Jesus. Some were friendly, some were not. Some were regular followers, others were temporary. But He chose for Himself a special group of men to be His disciples. This is the beginning of their story.

The life and ministry of Jesus was a challenge to the established, status quo religion of His day. Then, as now, He challenges human centered traditions, and calls us to a new life in the Spirit.

To follow Jesus means to follow the same road He walked. At some point in your life, no matter who you are, you will come to the “fork in he road.” What road will YOU follow?

One of the notable things taking place as Jesus heals a paralyzed man is the inner dialog, the Scribes are having within themselves. And what they are telling themselves affects everyone in the room. What are we telling ourselves about others, about our circumstances, and about most of all, about Almighty God?
